Have you ever had a crack in your foundation wall and wonder if it is a large issue or not? Well, you are not alone. Many people wonder the same thing. So, is it really an issue. An engineer once said "if you have concrete that doesn't crack, then you have magic concrete". And he was right. A measure of cracking is very normal. In fact, a relief cut is a lot like a "pre-crack". Engineers know it is going to crack anyways, so they add a relief cut to make sure that the "crack" looks pretty and is organized in straight lines. That being said, there are some cracks that are not good, and only a professional would be able to make that determination. So contact me, and I will be happy to investigate any issues you are having. |
